Paxus identifies the key traits of the best recruitment agencies

GUEST OPINION: Recruitment agencies play a critical role in helping businesses and individuals grow their organisation or their career. Yet not all agencies are the same. Paxus investigated the traits of the best agencies.

Paxus says really good agencies all have certain things in common and they should benefit clients and candidates alike. Here’s the Paxus’ guide to spotting the best agencies who will support you the whole way, not leave you in the lurch.

They have a good track record. Like the old saying, the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour. Check the agency for references and testimonials, as well as online reviews.

They are transparent. They’ll tell you the truth and won’t string you along or leave you wondering.

They view relationships as a partnership, not a transaction. There is genuine care to match up the right people with the right roles, not simply to tick a box and move on to the next commission.

They understand the industry or specialisation. They know the language and the skills.

They have solid processes that deliver results and save time. Job-hunting, and seeking new hires, is time-consuming from both sides of the desk. A good, partnered recruitment agency will take on the heavy lifting of the process and make life easier for you.

Is your recruitment agency making life easier for you? Do you feel like a valued partner? Are they interested in you, your role, your career? If not, maybe you don’t have the right one.
