“Don’t worry, though, we will continue to provide you the same great food and libations and music acts six nights a week while we find the perfect fit.”
Over at 505 W. Miracle Mile, there’s a lot going on. Live music, food, cocktails, and plenty of good vibes spread around at Monterey Court. Now, the owners are ready to retire and have put it up for sale.
The news was confirmed by Greg Haver on Facebook, stating that he and his wife, Kelly McLear are looking for a buyer with a like-minded vision.
“So, folks it’s true,” said Haver. “Kelly and I have decided to put our beloved business up for sale as we approach retirement. We feel now is the best time to find a new like-minded couple or group to take on our endeavor and make it their own.”
Originally opened in 1938 as Monterey Motel, the space was procured in 2011 by Haver and McLear. Together, they transformed the exhausted motel into a vivacious destination consisting of a cafe, bar, music venue, and artisan shopping with all the desert feels.
“We’ve created a space our bands and fans love and are realistic in our expectations that finding the right fit may take some time,” said Haver. “Don’t worry, though, we will continue to provide you the same great food and libations and music acts six nights a week and during Sunday brunch while we find the perfect fit. And as always thank you for your continued support.”
If you’ve never paid a visit to Monterey Court, there’s a cafe with indoor seating and outdoor seating in the courtyard, which seats roughly 225 with an additional 50 seats available at the bar.
All around the courtyard are 12 units, which previously served as the drive-up motel rooms. These units are now being rented out and showcase an array of mixed-media artists neighbored by hair salons, a flooring company, a tattoo shop, and an esthetician.
