There are deals on steaks, cocktails, limited-release wines, elegant buffets and laidback patio brunches. Dario’s Steakhouse & Seafood, 14315 Cypress Rosehill: This family-owned and -operated Cy-Fair restaurant is serving a special brunch for Father’s Day. First courses include lobster bisque, beef short ribs or a Seafood Trio of oyster, crabmeat and shrimp. Marvino’s Italian Steakhouse, 24002 Northwest Freeway: The three-course Father’s Day menu is Sunday, June 19 and costs $55 per person plus tax and gratuity. First-course options include Akaushi Meatballs, Beef Short Rib Raviolis and Marvino’s Mango Salad. Entrées represent land and sea, with dishes such as Cajun Ribeye topped with jumbo shrimp, Pappardelle Pescatore, which is pasta tossed with shrimp, Chilean blue mussels, calamari and crabmeat, and the combination Heart of Italy — a six-ounce filet mignon plus Chicken Marvino with shrimp. Close out the meal with a choice of four desserts such as Espresso Crème Brulée and tiramisu. The menu is available for dine-in and to-go. Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, 5839 Westheimer and 1200 McKinney: The annual Dads & Cabs event is back at both locations of this exclusive restaurant (the Galleria event is sold out as of this publishing, but you can join the waitlist by calling 713-780-7352). The evening includes tastings from 15 national and international wines, including those from Napa, Bordeaux, Chile and more. The downtown event is $115 per person plus tax and gratuity, and is Friday, June 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Kenny & Ziggy’s, 2327 Post Oak: Visit this bustling deli for all sorts of sweet and savory starters, mains and desserts, plus the Father’s Day special: a 24-ounce Roumanian Steak with a choice of two sides and a Father’s Day cocktail. It is $49.95 plus tax and gratuity, and available for dine-in only on June 19.
Rainbow Lodge, 2011 Ella: Celebrate the important men in your life with a Father’s Day feast prepared by executive chef Mark Schmidt. The festive brunch is served from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dinner is available beginning at 5 p.m. Popular starters include Lobster and Avocado Wedge, The Lodge’s Smoked Duck Gumbo and Fried Texas Quail Bites. Favorite main dishes include the Braised Bison Short Rib Benedict and Crabmeat Omelette.
Father’s Day specials include South Texas Nilgai Antelope Loin with smoked whole-grain mustard glacé, jalapeño and bacon-studded cheddar grits and Brussels sprouts, Hand-cut 16-ounce 44 Farms Beef Ribeye Steak and the Field & Stream Duo with grilled buffalo medallion and char-grilled petit cold water lobster tail. Monkey’s Tail, 5802 Fulton: This cool restaurant and bar in Lindale Park has an inviting interior and spacious, shaded patio. In addition to beer buckets, pitchers and cocktails, guests can order the Steak and Eggs brunch special for Father’s Day. It includes a 14-ounce ribeye with hollandaise, eggs and spicy chili potatoes. It costs $20 and is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wild Oats, 2520 Airline: Underbelly Hospitality’s newest restaurant, helmed by chef Nick Fine, is a casual-elegant destination great for celebrating dads (and conveniently located at the Houston Farmers Market). Make reservations for the expansive Sunday Brunch of salads, veggies, proteins and desserts, and enjoy a Father’s Day special prime rib station. The buffet is $55 for adults, $35 for children 10 and under and free for children under 3.
Phat Eatery, 23119 Colonial Parkway: Dads eat for free on Father’s Day at this award-winning Malaysian street food kitchen in Katy. The space is fun and energetic, too, making it ideal for families. All dads receive one complimentary draft beer, plus one free entrée with the purchase of an entrée of equal or lesser value. Try favorites such as savory, rich Beef Rendang or Sweet Basil Chicken. Tobiuo Sushi & Bar, 23501 Cinco Ranch Boulevard: Impress Dad with a 72-hour sous vide short rib combo from this trendy Japanese destination. The meat is accompanied by peach-carrot purée, pickled red onions and an herb trinity plus a Japanese Old Fashioned cocktail made with Japanese whiskey, black sugar and bitters. The combo is $30 and available on Father’s Day.
Brennan’s of Houston, 3300 Smith: Honor Dad with a meal at the legendary upscale Creole restaurant with New Orleans roots. The three-course brunch is $62 per person and is available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It includes a lagniappe of salmon rillette followed by starter choices such as Snapping Turtle Soup and Kurobuta Pork Belly. Main dishes include Duck Crêpes & Blueberry Gastrique, Louisiana Crab Cake & Shrimp and Wood-Grilled Filet Mignon. Davis Street at Hermann Park, 5925 Almeda: Dig into a succulent Fried Chicken Dinner from acclaimed chef Mark Holley. The meal honors all dads, but particularly Mark’s own father, Lawrence Holley. Start with Mamas Buttermilk Biscuits with pepper jelly lagniappe followed by Cucumber Tomato Salad. Main dishes include Chef Holley’s Skillet Fried Chicken, whipped roasted garlic potatoes with Creole tomato gravy, Kimchi Collard Greens and Vivian’s Truffle Macaroni & Cheese. Magnolia Cajun Comfort Food Truck + Vallensons’ Brewing Company, 4081 Rice Drier Road: These two local businesses are teaming up for Father’s Day Brunch & Brews on June 19 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the brewery. The Magnolia food truck will be on site to serve a variety of appetizers, such as boudin balls, crawfish pies and Boudin Eggroll, and entrées like po-boy with catfish or shrimp, Cajun Cheesesteak, crawfish étouffée, cheeseburger and more. Backstreet Cafe, 1103 South Shepherd: This River Oaks mainstay will serve Father’s Day brunch on June 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is $49 per adult and $15 per child, plus beverage, tax and gratuity. The three-course menu includes starters such as Red Gazpacho, Grilled Texas Peach Salad and Crawfish Beignets. Main dishes offer a mix of flavors with options such as Black Pepper Tagliatelle, ribeye, migas and Grilled Shrimp Salad, among others. There’s also an off-menu vegan special: a Mezze Platter with hummus, baba ghanoush, roasted red peppers, cauliflower, olives, broccolini, cucumber salad and pita bread. Ouisie’s Table, 3939 San Felipe: In addition to the regular Sunday menus, this iconic River Oaks restaurant is offering a three-course, prix-fixe Father’s Day brunch and dinner. Each menu also includes libation pairing choices. It is $59 per person plus tax and gratuity. Starters include Crispy Crab Cakes or Greek Salad with a choice of Champagne or Old Fashioned cocktail. Entrées come with either a glass of Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc, and include a 14-ounce Blackened Rib Eye, Seared Chilean Sea Bass with Champagne Sauce and two fried options: Chicken Fried Steak or Fried Chicken With The Works. Feges BBQ, 8217 Long Point: In a combined celebration of its one-year anniversary and Father’s Day, this brick-and-mortar, Spring Branch outpost of the popular Greenway Plaza barbecue stand is hosting a Going Hog Wild party. It is Saturday, June 18 from 2 to 6 p.m. Chef/co-owner Patrick Feges is cooking a whole hog on the patio, and guests will also be able to enjoy some live music. Lone Star singles will be half-priced alongside $20 buckets. In addition, goodies such as sauces, rubs and merchandise will be on sale.
Pondicheri, 2800 Kirby: Gift Dad a virtual trip to India at chef-owner Anita Jaisinghani’s cool and modern hotspot for creative dishes. The Father’s Day Steak Special is a grilled Angus ribeye prepared with kalonji (black cumin), cardamom and black pepper spices plus garlic and warm butter, and it is served alongside oversized onion rings. The cost is $34. À la carte sides are $9 each and include Saffron Mashed Potatoes or additional servings of onion rings. Amalfi Ristorante, 6100 Westheimer: Make it an Italian affair at this chic restaurant inspired by chef/owner Giancarlo Ferrera’s native Italian home. Usually closed on Sundays, it is specially open for Festa del Papà from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., featuring a three-course à la carte menu. Choose from seven appetizers such as deep-fried Roman-style artichokes or San Daniele Prosciutto with stuffed zucchini blossoms, eight housemade pastas such as ravioli with Limoncello sauce or tortellini stuffed with braised short ribs, and seven entrées such as whole Mediterranean sea bass “branzino” or roasted boneless domestic suckling pig.
There are a number of sides, too, such as roasted shishito peppers, rapini with roasted garlic and truffle fries topped with Parmesan cheese. The kids’ menu includes pizza and pasta. The Tasting Room – CityCentre, 818 Town and Country Boulevard: Dads can sink their teeth into two limited-time specials available all day June 17 through June 19 at this popular wine bar and restaurant. Executive chef Beto Gutierrez created the Southern Pimento Bacon Cheeseburger, which features a brisket patty, housemade pimento cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, crispy onion rings, pickles and BBQ sauce. There is also a Bacon Bloody Mary made with vodka and savory tomato juice garnished with applewood smoked bacon, fresh celery, pimento-stuffed olive, lemon and lime. The Warwick, 5888 Westheimer: Bring Dad to this new concept near the Galleria for upscale Southern food amongst a sleek, nostalgic design. Chef Antoine Ware consulted on the menu, which reflects Gulf Coast seafood staples and comfort foods alike. On Father’s Day, all dads receive a complimentary cigar, and are encouraged to try one of The Warwick’s three Old Fashions: Warwick Angel, Desperado or the Stock & Barrel. CRU Wine Bar, 2800 Kirby and 9595 Six Pines in The Woodlands: Father’s Day brunch is June 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cocktails are $6 per glass and $24 per carafe, with selections such as CRU Mimosa, Blood Peach Bellini and Bellini Cipriani. Starters include smoked salmon avocado toast, heirloom tomato and burrata salad and Goat Cheese Beignets. Entrée choices are Lobster, Asparagus & Saffron Risotto or Braised Short Rib & Scrambled Egg Tacos, and dessert is a choice of NY Style Cheesecake with fresh minted peaches, red velvet cake and crème brulée.
Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, 12848 Queensbury and 2800 Kirby: There are several specials available at this upscale restaurant on Father’s Day, which is also open early from noon to 8 p.m. in honor of the holiday. On the menu is an 11-ounce Snake River Farms Gold Label Wagyu Strip Steak and a limited amount of Eddie V’s single barrel select Blanton’s Bourbon. Upon request, dads will also receive a collectible Blanton’s stopper, while supplies last. (Read some fun history on the stopper here). Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, multiple locations: This sleek steakhouse is offering a surf-and-turf Father’s Day menu Thursday, June 16 through Monday, June 20. Each entrée comes with a choice of salad from Caesar or Fleming’s Salad with walnuts, tomatoes, dried cranberries red onion and lemon balsamic vinaigrette, and choice of dessert from Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake, New York Cheesecake or key lime pie. Entrée selections are Petite Filet Mignon & Crab-Stuffed Shrimp Scampi for $85 (upgrade to the lobster tail scampi option for $95) and Prime Surf & Turf, which includes a 20-ounce prime bone-in ribeye and North Atlantic lobster tail with drawn butter that is $105. Round out the meal with a full cocktail and extensive wine list. The restaurant is open for special weekend hours from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Goode Company: In addition to the classic Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie, for which the company is locally famous (and that is available year-round), the Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie is only available through June 19. This variation includes the same buttery crust loaded with Texas pecans, plus a few splashes of bourbon and finished with rich chocolate. The nine-inch pie is $44, or $59 when purchased in a custom-branded collectible wooden box. Order online and shipping is free.
Local Table, multiple locations: Dads receive a complimentary Brewmosa during brunch on Father’s Day at all four locations. The cocktail combines Blue Moon beer with orange juice and is served in a pint glass. Sip it alongside specialties such as Green Chile Shrimp Ceviche, Chipotle Cheddar burgers, Short Rib Banh Mi and assorted salads and entrées. The latter include breakfast-y selections such as Jalapeño Sausage Breakfast Burrito and migas, or lunch-style dishes like the Gyros Plate with Hand-Cut Fries and Mediterranean Salmon.
Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, multiple locations: Treat Dad to a luxurious steakhouse lunch or dinner. The restaurant is opening early on Father’s Day for service beginning at 11 a.m. The regular dinner menu will be available all day, as well as a Father’s Day special: a 22-ounce Smoked Kansas City Bone-In Strip Steak for $59. Reservations are required, and there is a $15 per-person fee for cancellations after June 17.
Slowpokes, multiple locations: All dads receive a free cold brew or drip coffee on Father’s Day with the purchase of a breakfast item. Suggestions include ham & brie croissant, breakfast tacos, kolaches and berry parfait.
Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen, 6401 Woodway and 1140 Eldridge: Although this Tex-Mex restaurant from “Enchilada Queen” Sylvia Casares is especially popular for its namesake dish and tamales, there are plenty of other entrées. On Father’s Day, Dad can order the customer-favorite Tampiquena combo of a beef fajita steak, one cheese or chicken enchilada, raja poblanas con crema, rice and tortillas.
There is also a three-course Father’s Day menu that costs $34.95 per person. The appetizer choices are Sopa de Fideo or Picamole, entrées are Cabrito Tacos or Hebbronville (three seasoned grilled quail served with grilled corn, poblano grits and charro beans) and desserts are a choice of chocolate tres leches or sopapillas. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online. Walk-ins are welcomed but, per restaurant instructions, those waiting must remain in their cars or stay away from the entrance until their table is ready. Orders can also be placed for curbside pickup, including margaritas to go.
The Capital Grille, 5365 Westheimer and 840 West Sam Houston Parkway North: Dine on the regular dinner menu available all day at this upscale steakhouse with selections such as Porcini Rubbed Bone-In Ribeye with 15-year Aged Balsamic or Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged NY Strip with Shallot Butter. Sides include Lobster Mac ‘N Cheese or Sam’s Mashed Potatoes.
The Union Kitchen, multiple locations: This local chain is popular for a broad menu of globally inspired dishes and drinks. On Father’s Day, order from the regular brunch menu or choose a holiday special from Gr8 Plate Hospitality’s executive chef James Lundy that is available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The latter include Breakfast Meatballs with country sausage, cheddar, fresh herbs, onions, croissant dough and a peppered sausage gravy, BBQ Brisket Benedict with Cajun hollandaise and jalapeño grit cake, and Churro French Toast made from brioche, cinnamon, sugar, condensed milk, caramel syrup and fresh berries.
There are two specialty cocktails, too. The Dad Bod is made with Elijah Small Batch Bourbon, peach schnapps, fresh lemon juice and maple syrup, and the Father’s Day Beer Mosa contains a blood orange sour mix, OJ and Union Brew American Lager. Reservations aren’t required but are encouraged, and can be made online.

DR Delicacy, 4120 Directors Row: For those who prefer to celebrate Father’s Day at home: all caviar from this purveyor of gourmet foods is 20% off June 13 through 19. Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, multiple locations: Pre-order to-go options, such as a $199 family-style dinner for four that includes a four-pound Smoked Kansas City Bone-In Strip Roast, four wedge salads and shareable size mashed potatoes. Add Orange Vanilla Cheesecake for an additional $25. There is also a three-course Pork Chop Sunday Supper for $39. The latter includes a choice of soup or salad, Perry’s Famous Pork Chop and a dessert trio. Seasons 52, 4410 Westheimer and 842 West Sam Houston Parkway North: Dads seeking a lower calorie way to celebrate may appreciate the Green Box. It is a three-course Father’s Day dinner to-go that feeds four to six people and is less than 600 calories per serving. Entrée choices are a whole side of cedar-plank roasted salmon or wood-grilled beef tenderloin. Each comes with salad, choice of two sides and Mini Indulgences. The Capital Grille, 5365 Westheimer and 840 West Sam Houston Parkway North: Host an indulgent home cookout via The Capital Butcher, which sells a variety of hand-carved and 18- to 24-day dry-aged steaks ready for cooking.
